Moore College (rear, facing Herty Field)
UGA Honors Program

Adjacent to the historic HertyField and named in honor of UGA alumnus Dr. Dudley Moore, Moore College was built in 1874 to be used as the State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. Designed by French native Leon Henri Charbonnier, Moore College is the only French Second Empire style structure on the University of Georgia campus. The building has also served as home to the Department of Physics and the Department of Romance Languages. Moore College now houses the Honors Program, which fosters a community of scholars and leaders through learning and personal growth, making it possible for students to receive the benefits of a small liberal arts college while providing the resources and opportunities of a major research university.
