Commission Guidelines
  1. Call or send an email about your project. During busy months I may have a waiting list.
  2. I will take photos of the location. Occasionally I work from customer photos when distance is an issue. (Please see photo tips below)
  3. We can discuss angle, landscaping and your preferences to make it most attractive. I will complete and present your painted image via email attachment, or preferably in person. On final approval, payment is due and the painting is picked up, delivered, or shipped USPS Priority Insured.

Photo Tips

One of the most important parts of commissioning a detailed portrait is having good photographs for the artist to work from. I prefer to take my own pictures, but if this is not possible, here are some suggestions: Photos must be clear and taken from several desired possible angles of view. You are welcome to send me a photo to see if it will make a nice painting, before you "officially" commission a portrait. I will not work from a studio or professional photographer's photo, unless we have their permission. I have had best results with morning light picture taking. Overcast days provide softer shadows and produce a flattering image. High resolution helps, which most cameras and smart phones have these days. The more photographs provided, the better. Email JPEG files or send hard copies of your photos. I will do my best to return the photos in good condition, however they will be in my studio with jars of water and tubes of paint. If you only have one copy of a photo, and you want to keep it in perfect condition, I suggest making a copy to send.

What forms of payment do you accept and is my credit card information secure on your site?

For online ordering, we use PayPal, which accepts credit cards. PayPal is committed to protecting your privacy and uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. Checks are also accepted.

How will my selection be shipped?
